Olympic IT Services was founded by Aaron Lasnetske, a Kitsap County native who grew up in Bremerton and Port Orchard. After studying engineering out of state, Aaron returned to the Pacific Northwest. While working in computer sales he became frustrated with bureaucracy and poor customer support, so he quit and started a custom-build computer shop in 1996.
Initially, the company focused on building custom computers for the home-pc gaming market, but quickly came to realize networking was a growing need. This sparked the formation of Olympic IT Services in 2002 with an eye to providing IT services for private medical practices which later expanded to include dental, veterinary, and professional offices.
